Resources.

Keep in mind that Running Club is exercise of the observer.

Observers don’t need to learn – they only observe.

The Mind Running technique is based on watching our mind process, which includes watching our desire to improve or change.

It’s about seeing there is nothing to gain. No getting better. No figuring things out.  All that noise is mind process.
It’s for those of us that are tired of going around in circles – for those that are ready to try a different course.

If you are here in hopes of learning (anything), I welcome you to explore these resources while continuing to watch your mind process run.
Learning is not ‘bad’ – but it is the thought that we need more – more knowledge, more teachings, more techniques – that is what we are aiming to observe.

Don’t just do something, sit there.  Sit. Observe. Repeat.

Ram Dass – Be Here Now

Ram Dass invited us to “Be Here Now” – not as an ideal to achieve, but as a loving return to what already is.

His teaching brings the heart into presence. Where Mind Running practice focuses on awareness, Ram Dass adds warmth, surrender, and humor to the journey.

Watch for deep acceptance, spiritual playfulness, and gentle reminders that you are already home.

Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now

Eckhart Tolle emphasizes presence and the power of observing thought without being consumed by it.

His clear language about ego, time, and the Now overlaps with the Mind Running  practice to encourage the “sit/ watch /don’t chase” idea.

Notice his practical language and techniques for observing the mind process and relaxing into the moment.

J. Krishnamurti – Freedom from the Known

Krishnamurti questioned everything – especially systems, traditions, and the idea of authority in spiritual practice.

His message is ‘no method, no goal – just direct observation’. His talks are a call to radical honesty and inward freedom. It can take a bit to get in-stride with him but once you do, you can run (and watch yourself run) for miles!

Freedom from mental conditioning and the courage to observe without framework.

Alan Watts – The Way of Zen

Alan Watts explores Zen and Taoist ideas through humor, philosophy, and metaphor.

He invites playful thinking – loosening the grip of logic and “shoulds” of our running mind process without demanding a path.

If you have a philosophical mind, watch it run as you discover clarity without pressure.

Thich Nhat Hanh – Peace Is Every Step

Mindfulness in action, breath awareness, and peace in everyday life is at the core of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teaching.

A bit gentler and more structured, but his emphasis on noticing breath and walking slowly without any goals ties into the MRC’s “sit and see” ethos.

A resource that is grounding and kindness in awareness practice.

MyndGuide

MyndGuide is the oddball of the list (and at the bottom for a reason!) MyndGuide is our growing library of illustrated talks that explore the inner workings of the mind process.

These concepts are the foundation of Mind Running Club’s philosophy, which is also based on many of the ideas of the others listed here – that awareness, not control, is the doorway to understanding.

MyndGuide is me sharing My Mind Guide in hopes you will develop your own Mind Guide.
