If your mind won’t stop ‘running’, try sitting down.

What is Mind Running Club?

Your mind runs –  we sit with it.

Local to Vancouver (Canada) but with communities all over the world,
Mind Running Club invites you to sit quietly and notice the mind process doing its thing.
Explore HOW TO SIT here

No coaches.  No gurus.  No goals.  No finish lines.

MRC does not endorse any specific meditation method.
Any human, from any background, in any situation can stop and observe their mind running.
It’s so simple but it can seem very hard – it’s not about improving – it’s noticing the desire to improve, fix, or change. Observing is the practice.

The Mind Runs On Its Own

We don’t control our thoughts – they show up uninvited. That’s not a problem.  We don’t fix the mind; we just observe it.

The Seat Is The Practice

No cushions, incense, or training required. Just sit somewhere, anywhere – a park bench, a kitchen chair, a yoga mat – and notice what arises.

All Speeds Welcome

Whether our mind is sprinting, spiraling, or strolling, everyone can practice. There is no need to slow down or speed up – just sit and observe.

There’s No Finish Line

This isn’t a race or a challenge -it’s a loop. We observe, get distracted, come back & begin again.  Sit – Notice – Repeat – that’s the whole thing.

Sit.  Notice.  Don’t fix.

How to sit – a preview
(learn more here)

Find a place to sit.  On your own, with a friend, or as a group.  Indoors or out. Quiet or noisy. Busy or calm – – it doesn’t matter.

Close your eyes (or don’t). Cross your legs, sit upright or lay back. How you sit doesn’t matter. You could even walk (or run) while you practice!

Notice what your mind process does.
Let it happen.
Don’t fix it.
Repeat.

No special gear needed.
No timers. No apps. No yoga mats. No sit pillows. No incense or sound bowls.
There is no need to
do anything special or feel anything special.
Just sit, notice, repeat.

Common Question #1

But, what are the benefits?
That question is the mind process looking for a payoff.  A running mind wants to win.
Which is fine – let it ask.
But we don’t need to fix anything, so in a way, there are no benefits.
There’s just a mind process. It runs.
We’re learning to notice it.

Common Question #2

Okay, but meditation is supposed to be Good for me, right?
That’s the same question wearing a different running outfit.
Just sit and watch how the mind tries to measure, evaluate, and keep score of a practice that isn’t trying to win.
That is our practice.

Common Question #3

But how do I know if I am doing it right? That’s a great question – now… notice who is asking and why it matters!
Our mind process can’t stop measuring itself. Let it. Don’t fix it. If you’re notice yourself wondering if you are doing it right, you are!
